Oaklawn Park may have been on the receiving end of a rather chilly arctic blast, ruling out an eagerly awaited appearance from Mike Stidham’s Toutsie Rules today, but the good news is that the race has been rescheduled for next Thursday, and what is more, the trainer has a host of runners pencilled in for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday to make up for any sense of disappointment.
Top billing this weekend goes to One Time Only, who lines up in the Pan Zareta Stakes – a $60,000 sprint over five and one half furlongs at Fair Grounds. Third last time out in the Blushing K. D. Stakes, One Time Only is bidding for her first stake win, and jockey Forest Boyce is hoping that he’ll be able to see the wood through the trees on Stidham’s five-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid.
Inavanti and The Lady Says Yes line-up on the Fair Grounds undercard Saturday, while Lawly’s Goal pops up over at Oaklawn – provided the track has thawed out in time.
On Sunday at Fair Grounds, a trifecta of Stidham runners comprises Royal Kona Queen, Swift Sword and La Luna Rouge, while Song to You proves his sole runner Monday.
Check back in again next week for a review of the weekend action.
