Toutsie tries again!

After someone left the freezer door open beside Oaklawn Park last week, Mike Stidham’s Toutsie Rules goes for a second stab at the Dixie Bell Stakes tomorrow.

Toutsie Rules is one of eleven to line up in the $100,000 race over six furlongs, and she has the able services of Shaun Bridgmohan in the saddle.

Speaking on his way to the Arkansas racetrack, Stidham said that he was delighted when the race was rescheduled, for instead of breaking from the one hole, as she was scheduled to do last week, Toutsie Rules now enjoys a much more favorable post position.

“She breaks from seven, which is a lovely position off the rail,” he said. “Basically, we’re looking to get any sort of Black Type from her. But she’s training well, and a big run is expected.”

The Toutsie isn’t the only Stidham runner at Oaklawn tomorrow, with Lawly’s goal and Warriorscmoutoplay entered on the undercard.

Over at Fair Grounds tomorrow, I Dazzle and Squatty are in the 4th and 8th respectively. While a day later at Oaklawn, Lawly’s Goal and Cautiouslyoptimistc have entries.

Check back in again later this week for a round-up of the week’s action and a look ahead to the weekend, with Stidham’s views on his triple-threat of runners in the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap at Fair Grounds Saturday.
