Aftermarket not one to spoil the party

Aftermarketspoiler brought the goods for the Stidham team over the weekend when dispensing with her maiden tag in no uncertain fashion Saturday.

West Point Thoroughbreds’ daughter of After Market was having only her third career start under Brian Hernandez. But she looked like a battle-grizzled warrior, pinging from the gates quicker than a sling-shot and never once allowing another horse to look her in the eye. Together, they passed the post two-and-a-half lengths to the good.

A couple of days later, La Luna Rouge was unlucky not to repeat the performance of her stablemate by shrugging the monkey from her back on only the third time of asking. Charging down the home stretch, La Luna Rouge only just failed to reel back in the eventual winner, Arabian Queen, but compensation surely waits around the corner for this talented daughter of Leroidesanimaux.

Looking to the week ahead, Stidham has Ike Walker entered Thursday at Fair Grounds, and Masquerade a day later. Over at Kentucky Friday, Curlins Queen flies the Stidham flag at Turfway Park.

Don’t forget to check back in later this week for a look ahead to the weekend action.
