Rebel Rebel kept the Stidham summer bandwagon rolling with a convincing win yesterday at Arlington.
A little tardy out of the gates, Rebel Rebel was given a fine ride by jockey Mitchell Murrill to reel in long-time leader Out of the Woods down the stretch, before going on to win by a pretty comfortable length-and-a-quarter.
This was Rebel Rebel’s first victory on only his third start. Owned by David Soblick, this son of Dixie Union has all the hallmarks of a typical Stidham youngster – that of a tough and improving young horse whose best days surely lie ahead.
Turning to the week ahead, Stidham has a whole army of runners scheduled for war. Zubi Zubi Zu, owned by the incomparable Hatfields, goes for broke at Indiana Grand Race Course Wednesday, while Candy Cate lines up at Prairie Meadows Thursday.
On Friday, Stidham spreads his wares far and wide, with four runners at three different tracks: Handful of Stripes and Ike Walker at Churchill Downs, The Zip Zip Man at Arlington, and Kingston Terrace at Prairie Meadows.
Don’t forget to check back in again with us later this week.
