Weekend update…

Canada’s the place to be this weekend if you’re looking for Stidham stable stake race action, what with exciting two-year-old The Zip Zip Man lining up in the Colin Stakes at Woodbine today, and Leigh Court headed to the Royal North Stakes.

An impressive winner on his debut last time out, The Zip Zip Man is one of eight to line up in the $150,000 race over six furlongs. And he’s an 8/5 shot to prevail under jockey Florent Geroux, and word from the barn is that he’s done very well since his last race.

Then, on sunday, Leigh Court makes her first start since last year’s Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint when she goes for Grade III glory in the $150,000 Royal North Stakes at Woodbine under jockey Gary Boulanger. Again, the Stidham runner is well-fancied on the Morning line as a 5/2 shot.

Runners abound this weekend, with Blue Moon Lady, Follow the Kitten, La Bruna Forte, General Election and Kingston Terrace lining up at Arlington today, Fancy Ticket goes tomorrow. While Ike Walker and Path of David carry the Stidham colors today at Del Mar.

Check back again early next week for a recap of the weekend action.
