The fantastic four!

A banquet of goodies lies in store for fans of the Stidham stable this weekend, with not one but four horses bidding for a tasty bite of black type!

First up is Pinnacle Peak who lines up in the $75,000 Prairie Meadows Juvenile Mile Stakes at…wait for it…Prairie Meadows. Second on his one and only run last month, this two-year-old son of Yes it’s True has delighted Stidham since then, and faces seven other rivals today. Pinnacle Peak is a general 8-1 shot on the Morning Line, and Shane Laviolette takes the ride.

Tomorrow sees the seasonal return of duel stakes-race-winning Pirate’s Trove in the Grade III Seaway Stakes at Woodbine. Last year’s Duchess and Etobicoke Stakes winner, Pirate’s Trove faces six other rivals in the $150,000 race over seven furlongs. Florent Geroux takes the mount on the 8-1 Morning Line shot.

Over at Del Mar tomorrow, Notte d’Oro faces a tough task in the Grade II John C. Mabee Stakes – a race worth $250,000 and run over one and one eighth miles. Already the winner of the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap earlier this year, Notte d’Oro faces a strong army of fillies and mares in the John C. Mabee – a reality that is reflected in her 15-1 Morning Line odds. But she has the able services of one of the hottest jocks riding right now, Flavien Prat.

Then on Sunday, the exciting Amira J goes for the Ontario Debutante Stakes at Woodbine. Amira J was a scintillating 14-length winner on her debut at Arlington last month, and she’s an evens favorite in the $125,000 race over six furlongs. This two-year-old daughter of Sky Mesa has the services of Jose Valdivia in the saddle.

Aside from the big race performers gunning for headlines, Stidham has a host of other runners this weekend.

At Arlington this weekend, Dreams on Parade goes today, Kara’s Angel and Heartland line up tomorrow, and Heart Stopper and La Luna Rouge are entered Sunday.

Arch Rivalry is on the Seaway Stakes undercard at Woodbine tomorrow, while Zubi Zubi Zu is on Woodbine’s Ontario Debutante Stakes undercard Sunday. Colour Party is Stidham’s sole Del Mar representative Sunday.

Check in again early next week for a round-up of the weekend action.
