Profluent pulled out all of the stops yesterday at Laurel Park when slugging out a hard-fought victory – a perfect start to a weekend in which Stidham has his fingers-crossed for more black-type gold.
Owned by DARRS, Inc. Profluent flew from last to first under jockey Trevor McCarthy to notch what proved to be his second victory this year. Tomorrow, Malibu Honey will be Stidham’s sole runner at Laurel Park this weekend.
Today, Pirate’s Trove and Notte d’Oro are two of seven to line up in the $50,000 Melanie Frances Stakes at Arlington – a mile race on the turf. Notte do’Oro is seeking to add another black-type victory to her win earlier this year in the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap. While Pirate’s Trove is seeking to get off the mark in 2015. Stidham’s flying fillies will be ridden by jockeys E.T. Baird and Jose Valdivia, Jr. respectively.
Kids Rule line up on the Arlington undercard today, while He’s A Dandy Man heads to Monmouth Park tomorrow.
