Given a beautifully patient ride by jockey Jose Valdivia Jr., Notte d’Oro flew to victory in the Melanie Frances Stakes at Arlington Saturday.
Owned by Twin Creeks Racing Stables, Notte d’Oro was settled towards the rear of the field before steady headway was made down the home stretch. Kicking clear over a furlong out, Notte d’Oro eventually passed the post two-and-a-half lengths to the good. This was Notte d’Oro’s second stake victory this year – she claimed the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap back in January.
That she has remained in tip-top form after such a busy campaign this year is yet another testament to Stidham’s ability with fillies.
It looks like it’s going to be an unusually quiet week for the Stidham stable. Arch Rivalry is his sole entry this week, Friday at Laurel Park.
