Yum Yum a tasty winner!

The good form of the Stidham stable continues unabated at Fair Grounds, and Yum Yum proved another nice winner for the barn yesterday.

A three-year-old daughter of Eddington, Yum Yum broke her maiden in resolute fashion for owner Phillip Maas yesterday, always sitting close to the leader before being brought with a nice run down the stretch by jockey Mitchell Murrill. Together, they flashed past the post a neck to the good.

There sure looks to be many more exciting days ahead for this lightly raced and promising filly.

Moving forward, hopes are high that the weekend will yield yet another nice winner or two. And the headline act is, of course, Colour Party, who contests the $50,000 Battle of New Orleans Stakes today.

Eight go to post, and jockey Colby Hernandez takes the mount on Stidham’s runner. Mount Brilliant Farm’s three-year-old son of Invincible Spirit has been running well all year, and a nice performance is expected.
