The Stidam barn heads into the weekend still very much riding a high. Not only is the Stidham name still sitting atop the trainers’ standings at Louisiana’s premier track (with $218,140 in the kitty and an incredible 41 percent win strike-rate), but the winners keep rolling in as sure and steady as the Hurricanes being poured on Bourbon Street!
Indeed, yesterday at Fair Grounds, Noble Thought broke his maiden in good fashion for Pin Oak Stud, sitting on the heels of the leaders before pouncing down the straight. Noble Thought, a two-year-old son of Harlen’s Holiday, was having only his fourth racecourse appearance, and the fine attitude he showed yesterday will stand him in good stead as me moves forward.
A couple of days before and on only his second start for the Stidham barn, Stone Farm’s Trend showed that he’s no back-number at the grand old age of eight, when showing great tenacity under jockey Florent Geroux to rally to a win at Fair Grounds. Should he remain in the same kind of heart, Trend looks poised to provide connections with a lot of fun during this current winter meet.
And now for the weekend. Here’s a snap shot of the stable’s entries:
He’s a Dandy Candy – Race 4, Maiden Special Weight
