Best wishes from the Stidham stable!

With Christmas but a little over a day away, the sensational start that Mike Stidham has enjoyed to the current Fair Grounds meet is filling him with festive good cheer!

“I want to extend a big thank you to all of the owners and employees who have contributed to what has amounted to a great year for the barn,” Stidham said. “Our owners are so loyal and our employees are so dedicated, it makes my life as a trainer that much easier. And the great success we’ve had, not just lately but all year through, is a direct result of that loyalty and dedication that each and every one of you has shown. So again, a big, big thank you!”

Stidham also has news on Pinnacle Peak, who scored so convincingly for owner Mark Breen last week. “It was great to see him bounce back to form,” said Stidham, adding that he could possibly run next in the Grade III Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds on January 16 of next year.

As for yuletide runners, the Stidham barn looks set for a busy few days ahead. The star attractions are Fila Primera and possibly Colour Party in Saturday’s Pago Hop Stakes, worth $75,000. Fila Primera has jockey Jose Valdivia on board. Colour Party, on the also-eligibles list, has Colby Hernandez provisionally booked. A full card of 14 runners looks set to line up.
