Court rules!

Another magnificent week of action comprised a stake win for former Canadian Champion three-year-old filly Leigh Court alongside a number of fine performances, and the action on this Valentine’s Day weekend promises further fireworks as the form of the stable at present continues to sizzle!

Owned by Speedway Stables, Leigh Court showed that she’s anything but a back-number at the age of six with a dominant display in the $60,000 Mardi Gras Stakes at Fair Grounds. A little shaky out of the gates, Leigh Court was quickly rousted into the lead by jockey Florent Geroux, where they remained for the rest of the way, passing the post three-quarters of a length too good.

This was a truly exciting performance on Leigh Court’s first start of the year, setting the rest of the season up nicely for tougher assignments ahead.

Leigh Court wasn’t the only winner Tuesday. Rapid Rhythm, owned by DARRS, Inc., proved a tidy winner, too, sluicing home late and fast under man of the moment, Florent Geroux. With three wins already under her belt, Rapid Rhythm is as honest as they come, and it shouldn’t be too long before she adds more trophies to the cabinet.

Today, A He’s an O’Prado made a debut performance a winning one under jockey Mitchell Murrill, showing a good attitude and a neat turn of foot to win going away by a length-and-a-half. This three-year-old son of Paddy O’Prado looks like an exciting recruit to the stable of owner Phillip Maas. Don’t be surprised to see him competing against much stiffer competition further into his career.
