Knuckle biter…

As the current Fair Grounds meet draws nearer to a close, fans of the Stidham stable are chewing their finger-nails down to their quicks wondering whether Stidham can cling on long enough to the lead to claim his first ever trainer’s title.

The big man is still sitting at the top of the table, with $901,320 in prize money and 27 winners on the board, but only just – Thom Amoss is breathing down his throat, and the race looks certain to go to the wire.

Luckily the horses continue in great form, as exemplified by Jessica’s Star over the weekend – a game runner up in the Maxxam Gold Cup at Sam Houston over the weekend on his first start back from a long lay off. We also have news of a few other stable stars:

Ground Transport: this gallant stable stalwart might make his own comeback this week at Fair Grounds, and if his work in the mornings is anything to go by, he should more than hold his own.

Zipessa: flying at home, and will soon make her first start back since running in the Grade I Del Mar Oaks last year.

Jockamo’s Song: his next start will probably be in allowance company.

Now to the week ahead. Here’s a list of the stable’s entries this week:
