There’s so much action to cover this weekend, without any further ado, I’ll simply get on with it!
First up, Zubi Zubi Zu is going for Grade III glory in the $100,000 Arlington Matron Stakes today. Ridden by jockey Mitchell Murrill, this super filly (a five time winner) is gunning for her first taste of black type, and faces a maximum of nine in what looks like a hot contest. She’s a 20-1 shot on the Morning Line.
In the following race, Tequila Joe faces a maximum of ten in the $100,000 Grade III Arlington Classic Stakes. This exciting young Stormy Atlantic colt is coming off a win last time out at Keeneland, and jockey Jose Valdivia rides the Morning Line 9-2 shot.
Yesterday, the Stidham stable enjoyed a couple of fine victories. The ever-green Trend showed he still possesses the will to win at the tender age of nine in a driving finish under Jose Valdivia. Trend has been an honest servant for owner Stone Farm over the years, and it looks as though he still might add more victories to his six career wins.
Over at Indiana Grand Race Course, Sylvia’s Warrior had things a little easier when proving a stylish winner under jockey Marcelino Pedroza. Owned by Good Stuff Stable and Feel The Thunder Stable, Sylvia’s Warrior was clinching his third career win yesterday.
