While snapping on the heels of the leading trainer at Arlington Park this summer season, the Stidham stable continues to churn out the winners, and the past weekend proved no exception to that rule.
Mi Fiori got the ball rolling with a decisive victory Sunday under jockey Mitchell Murrill. Owned in a partnership comprising Brent Gasaway, John Padden, Karen Bublitz, and the trainer himself, Mi Fiori was collecting her third win overall, in a career that spans just seven starts.
Later in the afternoon, Heart Stopper lived up to his name with a narrow head victory under Murrill. Now six, Heart Stopper has been a grand old servant down the years, and it looks like, on this evidence, that Michael Faber’s Dare To Dream Stable should have plenty more fun with him over the summer.
Now to the rest of the week, and Pinnacle Peak is an also-eligible in the Prairie Mile Stakes at Prairie Meadows Friday – a $65,000 race over a mile. Pinnacle Peak already has a nice bit of black type to his name – he was the ready winner of the Prairie Meadows Juvenile Mile Stakes last August. And, should he get a run, he will have the able services of jockey Alex Birzer in the saddle.
