Proud of Zipessa

She may not have provided her trainer with his maiden Breeders’ Cup victory, but Zipessa still did her connections proud with a fine fifth place finish in the $2 million GI Breeders’ Cup Fillies and Mares Turf Saturday.

Normally lickety-split from the gates, Zipessa was a little tardy this time, settled well off the pace before knuckling down to it in the straight, running on for fifth under jockey Joe Bravo. Afterwards, Hilary Pridham said that the run shows another dimension to Zipessa that bodes well for the future.

Empyrean Stable’s four-year-old daughter of City Zip will now go on a well deserved holiday in Ocala, Florida, before an anticipated campaign next year!
