To say that Pin Oak Stable’s Synchrony has been a stable standard-bearer this year would do a disservice to the word understatement, and this fantastic horse again served up a performance of sheer quality and class this weekend to win the GIII Red Bank Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Given a peach of a ride by Joe Bravo, Synchrony was waited with patiently mid-pack for much of the way, but when the field turned into the straight, they slivered through the pack like a hot knife through butter, winning easily in the end by a growing-looking 1 1/2 lengths.
“This horse is just a superstar,” said Stidham. “He’s just so honest, and he has a tremendous engine to go with it. I’m delighted for the owner, a great supporter of the yard, and for the whole team. We’re enjoying a fantastic summer, and successes like these are down to the great teamwork of everybody involved. Long may it continue!”
Synchrony wasn’t the only Stidham stable winner over the weekend. Marc Winston and George Schifano’s Credit Swap looked a 2-year-old with no inconsiderable potential when sluicing up at Monmouth Park yesterday on his debut. This Exchange Rate colt ranks right up there alongside the best of Stidham’s strong looking juvenile division this year.
