Synchrony’s back!

It’s Derby day at Churchill Downs tomorrow, but fans of the Stidham stable will have eyes for one horse in particular, the magnificent Synchrony, who appears in the G1 Old Forester Turf Classic Stakes on the undercard.

Before we take a look at Synchrony’s chances tomorrow, we’ve got news on a fine winner for the stable today at Belmont Park.

Ocean Monarch broke his maiden in style under Kendrick Carmouche for owners Burning Daylight Farms and Rebecca Galbraith. The penny’s finally dropping for this 3-year-old son of Cairo Prince, and his best days are surely ahead of him.

And now to Churchill Downs tomorrow, where stable standard-bearer Synchrony is drawn 9 of 13 in the $1 million Old Forester Turf Classic Stakes – a race he finished 3rd in last year. This tough and talented son of Tapit has already picked up the G3 Fair Grounds Handicap this year, and he’s expected to run another barn-stormer under Johnny Valezquez.

And now for the rest of the weekend entries:

Gizmo – Race 9, Allowance Optional Claiming $75,000
Orbert – Race 10, Maiden Special Weight
