Weekend update

The weekend is shaping up to be an exciting few days for the Stidham stable with a runners across three different states. Headline billing is shared between Brown Eyes Blue, Every Way and Kids Rule, all three of who line up in stakes races Saturday

Brown Eyes Blue and Every Way form a Stidham double-header when they line up in the $50,000 Jersey Lilly Stakes at Sam Houston. Both hold strong claims in a field of ten, and Stidham has secured the services of jockeys Eddie Baird and Robbie Albarado.

At Turfway Park the same afternoon, Kids Rule is scheduled to run in the $100,000 John Battaglia Memorial for three-year-olds. This is by far the biggest test to date for the colt by Lemon Drop Kid, and how he fares tomorrow will determine whether Stidham points him towards a run for the roses. Jockey Dean Sarvis takes the mount.

At Fair Grounds, Stidham has Cautiouslyoptimsc entered today. Tomorrow, it’s the turn of Blue Y Gold, I Dazzle and Voluptuous, while on Sunday, In Kelly’s Defense bids to follow up her recent win.

Yesterday, Local One Thirty broke his maiden at the forth time of asking with a barnstorming performance. The only other time the three-year-old colt by Stroll saw another horse was in the gates, and he passed the wire a jaw-dropping eleven lengths in front of the next horse home, James Graham in the saddle.

Check back in again next week for a weekend round-up.
