Abundantly clear of the rest

Abundantly Clear recorded her first win of the season on another solid weekend of action for the Mike Stidham stable.

Twin Creeks Racing Stable’s four-year-old daughter of Pulpit made mincemeat of her rivals in a competitive allowance race at Arlington, Friday. Jockey Carlos Marquez Jr. quickly rousted his mount into the lead, and there she remained, gradually surging further ahead of her rivals until she passed the post a full four lengths clear of the next horse. This was Abundantly Clear’s second career victory in only nine starts.

While Saturday didn’t yield any stable winners, Stidham’s Arlington runners showered themselves with honors as they both finished runner-up in their respective races. Song to You’s loss was especially hard to take. After leading for the vast majority of the race, James Graham’s mount was only headed in the shadow of the wire, eventually going down a head. Nothing of not consistent, Song to You, owned by Mt Brilliant Farm, has only been once out of the frame in seven career starts.

Looking ahead to the week’s action, Stidham has made two entries at Arlington: Fighter Squadron on Thursday, and Gossip Mill on Friday.

Check back in again later this week for a look ahead to the weekend action.
