Weekend double!

Another good weekend for the Stidham stable at Arlington means that Stidham’s still the one at the head of the trainer’s table at the Chicago track.

Bayago got the ball rolling Saturday for owner William Kanter, with jockey Carlos Marquez riding a race full of confidence to produce the five-year-old son of Tiago a length too good on the line.

One day later, Meetmeforasmoke won her second race in a row at Arlington for owners DARRS inc. Jockey Mitchell Murrill always had the four-year-old daughter of Smoke Glacken near to the pace, and down the stretch, he pushed her out to win by a cosy three-quarters-of-a-length. Can she get the trifecta for the red-hot Stidham stable?

These two wins mean that Stidham still heads the table at Arlington with $621,460 in the piggy bank and 29 wins on the board.
