Win, win, win!

Here at Stidham racing, we realize we’ve been neglecting our many, many fans – no update for a week! But with so much great stable news having happened during that period, let’s promptly make up for lost time.

At Belmont Park on the first of the month, Theycallhimthekid won his second race of the season for owners Martin Nixon, Cobra Farm, and Brent Gasaway. The four-year-old son of Hard Spun is tough, honest, and a real credit to connections.

One day later at Presque Isle Downs, Godolphin’s Brookline finally made it to the winner’s enclosure with a convincing win under jockey Luis Garcia. Brookline has shown glimmers of ability in the past, and can move onto finer things with this nice confidence boosting win under his belt.

On Independance Day, Hill ‘N Dale Farm’s Kim Dandy ran out an easy winner at Ellis Park, under jockey Brian Hernandez. This three-year-old daughter of Pleasantly Perfect is now three for five, and is doing her future stud career no harm whatsoever with a career on the track that’s fast becoming stellar.

Then today at Arlington, Cannes won his second race of the year under jockey Mitchell Murrill. Owned by Feel The Thunder Stable, Cannes has proven himself yet another super, tough Stidham runner.

And now to this weekend!

Tomorrow at Delaware Park, 2-1 shot Zipessa is all set to line up in the $200,000 GIII Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes. Drawn four of nine in the turf race over a mile and three-eights, Zipessa is looking to add to her impressive black type haul: she’s a GIII winner, and has been placed in a couple of GIs already.

And then, over at Evangeline, Jockamo’s Song goes in the $100,000 Louisiana Legends Sprint Stakes. Drawn three of 12, Jockamo’s Song is a 5-1 shot to prevail under jockey Gerard Melancon in the race, run over five and a half furlongs.
