A triple header!
It’s Arlington’s biggest weekend of the year, and the Stidham stable is firing three stake-race shots across the bow as part of the thrilling action!
First up is Memory Bank, who lines up against nine other runners in the $75,000 Bruce D. Memorial Stakes – a mile race for three-year-olds. Memory Bank has the able services of Mitchell Murrill in the saddle, and is a 12-1 shot on the Morning Line.
Garlanded black type performer Zipessa is one of ten to line up in the $600,000 GI Beverly D. Stakes, run over 1 3/16 miles. As tough and gritty as they come, Zipessa has the mighty Frankie Dettori on her back as she bids to defy her 15-1 odds in what looks a hum-dinger of a contest.
Then, it’s the turn of Canny against a field of 12 in the GIII Pucker Up Stakes, run over 1 1/8 miles. In a race for three-year-old fillies only, Canny will be steered by jockey Julien Leparoux, and is a 15-1 shot on the Morning Line.
Before we look at the other runners this weekend, let’s peer back at another Stidham stable winner – Supreme Aura, who ran away with a nice Maiden Special Weight at Delaware Park on Wednesday under jockey Daniel Centeno for owners Stallionaire Enterprises.
