The year of Hilary Pridham!
Before we get down to business here at Stidham racing, we would like to point out, once again, just how proud we are of assistant Hilary Pridham’s recent nomination in the second annual North American edition of the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards!
Hilary has been nominated in the racing stable category, and the finalists will be recognized at an awards ceremony luncheon Oct. 13 at Keeneland.
And we can’t put it any better than Stidham himself, who say that “so much of our success through the years is down to Hilary’s tireless input. She deserves this award more than any other person I know, and it’s just great that the industry at large is finally recognizing what I’ve known for years: that Hilary is a superstar!”
And now into business!
The stable enjoyed a fine winner Wednesday at Delaware Park when Highland Park Hero made his racecourse bow a winning one under Brian Pedroza. Having nearly led from start to finish (in typical Stidham style), Highland Park Hero passed the post two lengths too good, and owners Galatyn Stables’ two-year-old son of Forestry will surely progress from here.
Now for the weekend, and Zipessa faces 11 other rivals in the $150,000 One Dreamer Stakes at Kentucky Downs tomorrow. The multiple graded stakes win and placed-getting Zipessa is a 5-2 shot under Julien Leparoux to bag this nice prize, run over one mile and seventy yards.
Over at Suffolk Downs the same day, Dream Prospect faces a maximum six other rivals in the $75,000 Steve Pini Memorial Stakes, run over one mile and seventy yards. Edwin Gonzalez rides this four-year-old daughter of Mineshaft, who’s making her first start for the yard. She’s a 15-1 shot on the early Morning Line.
