Zipessa day!
The big day is here – it’s the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mares Turf, and a chance for the mighty Zipessa to complete a GI double!
A superb winner last time out of the GI Lady Secret Stakes, at Keeneland, Zipessa faces an even more daunting task today, against a field loaded with the likes of Lady Eli, Avenge and Dacita. But Zipessa is nothing if not tough and honest as the day is long, and she’ll be giving her all, as always.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with her,” said Stidham, about a filly who could provide the veteran trainer with his maiden Breeders’ Cup victory. “It’s a tough race, obviously, but we’re going into it confident that we stand a good chance.”
Zipessas’s drawn 4 of 14, and she has the able services of jockey Joe Bravo in the driver’s seat.
