Leading the pack at Tampa Bay Downs!

A few months into the current meet at Tampa Bay Downs, and the Stidham stable is still leader of the pack in the race for the trainer’s title, with nearly $50,000 in the kitty and four victories on the board!

Stidham consolidated his position at the head of affairs after a series of nice wins over the past few days, all ridden by jockey Brian Pedroza.

Birdsnest Party Friday finally shrugged the monkey from his back when winning nicely for owner Mark Breen. This three-year-old gelding by Twirling Candy has shown smart form in the past, and this could be just what his confidence needed.

Panic Stable’s Hay Baby Girl looks another useful recruit to the stable’s young ranks, when scoring easily a couple of races after Birdsnest Party. This two-year-old daughter of Yes It’s True looks set to follow up sooner rather than later.

One day later at Tampa Bay Downs, Godolphin’s Charged showed guts aplenty when eeking out a narrow win under Pedroza. Highly tried in the past, it’ll be interesting to see where Stidham goes next with Charged.

Thursday at Fair Grounds, DARRS, Inc. and Beatson Stable’s Miss Gracer nabbed her second career win under jockey Joe Bravo, bravely holding onto victory by a desperately fought neck.

Bossci Stable’s Zeke won by an even slimmer margin yesterday at Fair Grounds, maintaining in the process his unbeaten record. This two-year-old son of Gio Ponti might well see black-type rivals next time we see him of an afternoon.

Here’s the stable’s entries this week:

Tampa Bay
Harv Won’t Tap – Race 7, Allowance
Memory Bank – Race 7, Allowance

Fair Grounds
Mix and Mingle – Race 6, Maiden Special Weight

Fair Grounds
She’s Got the Mojo – Race 4, Claiming
