Big day!
On a big day at Fair Grounds tomorrow (Louisiana Derby day!), the Stidham stable fires a trifecta of stake-race arrows at the undercard.
Charged and Five Hearts double up for Stidham in Race 5 tomorrow, the $50,000 New Orleans Ladies Overnight Stakes, over one and one sixteenth miles. Five Hearts is a 9-2 shot who’s drawn six, and will be ridden by Joe Bravo. Charged, drawn seven, is bigger priced at 15-1, and has Mitchell Murrill on board. They both have the prolific Mom’s On Strike to beat.
Four races later, Synchrony, who won the GIII Fair Grounds Handicap last time out, aims to double up in the GII Muniz Memorial Handicap. Drawn one with Joe Bravo on board, Synchrony is a 7-2 shot in the turf race over one mile and one eighth.
