Synchrony pitch perfect!

What a horse Synchrony is! Pin Oak Stable’s five-year-old son of Tapit claimed his second graded stake of the current Fair Grounds meet over the weekend, when he won the GII Muniz Memorial Handicap under an inspired Joe Bravo ride.

Positied on the inside behind the leaders, Synchrony was produced down the stretch with a rattling run to take the $300,000 contest going away. And having won the GIII Fair Grounds Handicap just last month, Synchrony’s winning days look far from done.

Here’s what Mike had to say after the victory:

“The thing that’s so incredible about this horse is he is so adaptable,” Stidham said. “He can sit back last and make a big run late, or if you need to use him like we did today and be a little closer, he can do that, too. That’s what is so cool about the horse.

“This was a pretty big step up in class. There were some really good horses in here. It was a deep, contentious field. We’re going to be looking at a lot of different spots. Throughout the spring and summer, there are so many opportunities for this kind of horse.”

From winners over the weekend, here’s a look at this week’s entries:
