Belle just beautiful in Dahlia!
Godolphin’s Hallie Belle bounced back to form with a gutsy winning display in the $100,000 Dahlia Stakes at Laurel Park Saturday.
Given a patient and expertly executed ride by Sheldon Russell, Hallie Belle was produced down the stretch to snag the race by a short nose at the wire, bringing her stake-race scorecard to two.
Hallie Belle won last December’s Pago Hop Stakes at Fair Grounds, only to disappoint in the subsequent Albert M. Stall Memorial. But this was a rallying return to form for the four-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, and she clearly has much more to deliver in her career.
