Aura of invincibility?

It’s been another good week for the barn, what with a couple of nice winners and a handful of noteworthy performances, showing that the horses remain in good heart as the summer hots up.

Last Saturday at Laurel Park, Regal Image claimed his third career victory under jockey Russell Sheldon. Godolphin’s Medaglia d’Oro gelding is tough and genuine, and it shouldn’t be too long before he adds to his win tally once again.

Yesterday at Arlington, DARRS Inc’s Orbert broke his maiden in stylish fashion, always vying for the lead before asserting down the stretch under jockey Mitchell Murrill.

And now to the weekend, with Supreme Aura leading the big race action at Canterbury Park, when he’s drawn 2 of 14 in the $100,000 Mystic Lake Mile Stakes – a mile race on the turf.

This stakes winning son of Candy Ride has been steadily improving with every run this year, and with Eddie Martin Jr. in the saddle this time, Supreme Aura is a 6-1 shot to deliver another black type winning performance.

And here’s the rest of the weekend action:

Monmouth Park
