Champion trainer!

The Colonial Downs summer meet is now over, and guess who finished at the head of the trainer’s standings?

“This is just fantastic,” said Mike Stidham, after rounding out the meet as leading trainer with ten victories and nearly $500,000 in the kitty. “We’ve really been on a roll this summer, and it’s very satisfying that the hard work of everybody, from the grooms and the hotwalkers, all the way up to the exercise riders and the assistants, is being paid off. Long may it continue!”

But that’s not the only good news from the weekend! On Saturday at Colonial Downs, the 2-year-old The Factor colt Embolden looked a very smart individual indeed when winning the $100,000 Jamestown Stakes under Trevor McCarthy. Quick from the gates, Embolden led from start to finish, and passed the post nearly four lengths to the good for owners Dare to Dream stable.

Embolden is certainly giving them plenty to dream about, that’s for sure!
