Pixelate imperious in the Central Park!
Godolphin’s Pixelate was a thoroughly gutsy winner of the $100,000 Central Park Stakes today at Aqueduct, keeping the good recent form of the stable going strong!
Pixelate, a 2-year-old son of City Zip, really stuck his neck out under Jose Lezcano, seeing the 1 and 1/16th mile trip out admirably. With this nice bit of black type under Pixelate’s belt, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him follow up sooner rather than later. One thing’s for sure, his trainer will place him with pin-point accuracy.
Pixelate hasn’t been the only stable winner this week – oh no! On Wednesday at Tampa Bay, Godolphin’s well bred daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, Embossed, broke her maiden impressively under Pablo Morales, and this 2-year-old is one to keep an eye on, that’s for sure.
Then, today at Fair Grounds, DARRS Inc’s Blackline was even more impressive under Marcelino Pedroza, and this 3-year-old son of Scat Daddy can step up on this win, just the second of his nascent career.
Now for the weekend!
The stable’s big race team of runners includes Saguaro Row, drawn 5 of 6 in the $250,000 G3 Go for Wand Handicap at Aqueduct, over a mile. With Joel Rosario on board, Saguaro Row, a winner last time out of the Pumpkin Pie Stakes, is a 6-1 shot on the Morning Line.
The stable’s other weekend big race shot is Breckenridge, who’s drawn 2 of 7 in the $100,000 Inaugural Stakes, over 6 furlongs, at Tampa Bay tomorrow. Pablo Morales takes the mount, and they’re a 6-1 shot to prevail.
