Fair Grounds bonanza!
Godolphin’s Micheline kept the Stidham stable band-wagon rolling today at Tampa Bay Downs when getting back into the winning groove under a fine Pablo Morales ride.
Micheline has been highly tried this year, and it was very satisfying indeed to see this talented daughter of Bernardini garner her first victory since snagging the Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park in September.
As for this weekend, the barn fires out three big race runners at Fair Grounds tomorrow.
First up is Ursula, drawn 6 of 6 in the $75,000 Letellier Memorial Stakes, a 6 furlong sprint. With Mitchell Murrill on board, Ursula is a 3-1 shot.
In race 7, Powell is drawn 2 of 9 in the $75,000 Bonapaw Stakes, a 5 1/2 sprint on the turf. Colby J. Hernandez takes the mount on the 8-1shot.
Then, the ex-European Flower Party seeks a first States-side victory in the $75,000 Blushing K. D. Stakes, a 1 1/16th race on the turf. Shaun Bridgmohan takes the ride on the 12-1 shot.
