Weekend action!
Lots of post-festive period action to enjoy this weekend, with Stidham stable-trained big race runners galore at Fair Grounds and Gulfstream Park.
Tomorrow at Fair Grounds, Elsa and Classic Fit are entered in the $75,000 Pago Hop Stakes, over a mile on the turf, the former drawn 12 of 13, and the latter an also-eligible. Brian Hernandez takes the mount on Elsa, and if Classic Fit runs, she’ll be ridden by Colby Hernandez.
Later on the card, The Last Zip is drawn 7 of 13 in the $75,000 Woodchopper Stakes over a mile on the turf. Mitchell Murrill takes the mount on the 6-1 shot on the Morning Line.
Over at Gulfstream Park tomorrow, Carnival Colors is drawn 12 of 14 in the $75,000 Tropical Park Oaks, a turf race over 1 1/16th miles. Nik Juarez takes the mount on the 20-1 shot.
