The Texan three!
It’s shaping up to be a busy ol’ Texan weekend for the stable, with three big race arrows pointed towards three stake races during a lucrative day of racing at Sam Houston Sunday. But first, let’s check in with the stable’s winners this week.
On Wednesday at Tampa Bay, Rosebud’s Hope showed her rivals a clean pair of heels under Pablo Morales for owners Alan Herman, Brent Gasaway, and Feel The Thunder Stable.
At Fair Grounds one day later, Stallionaire Enterprises’s Summer Hope (by Summer Front) was a storming winner on her debut under Mitchell Murrill. Yet ANOTHER fine Stidham-trained maiden winner at the nascent meet.
Today at Tampa Bay, Godolphin’s Curlin filly, Ferber, was equally as eye-catching under Tomas Mejia. That’ll have done her broodmare prospects no harm whatsoever.
As for Sunday at Sam Houston, Powell is drawn 5 of 12 in the $100,000 Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint Stakes, a 5 furlong sprint on the turf. Brian Hernandez takes the ride on the 15-1 shot.
Next up is Pixelate (winner last time out of the Central Park Stakes) who’s drawn 1 of 12 in the $200,000 Texas Turf Mile Stakes. With Florent Geroux on board, Pixelate is a fancied 4-1 shot.
Then comes Zumurudee who’s drawn 4 of 12 in the $200,000 G3 John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes, over 1 1/2 miles. This Brian Hernandez-ridden runner is as 15-1 shot.
And now for the rest of the weekend entries:
