Big news day!
There’s a ton of exciting news to get through today, so, without any further ado, let’s get down to business!
The Stidham stable is delighted to welcome Francisco Serrano to its assistant trainer ranks! No one deserves this more than Francisco, who’s one of the most conscientious workers around, and we know he’s going to knock this opportunity out the ball-park!
Talking of knocking things out the ball-park, that’s exactly what we’ve done this week. Last Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs, Signal Hill Farms’ Kholstomer broke his maiden in stunning fashion under Jesus Castanon.
Over at Fair Grounds the same day, Wings of Fury won her second race in succession under Mitchell Murrill. This was another nice victory for the Dare to Dream Stable.
Back at Tampa Bay Downs on Wednesday, Feel the Thunder Stable’s Melissani won nicely under Jesus Castanon, but was subsequently claimed out of the yard.
And now for the weekend stake action (of which there’s a lot!).
Tomorrow at Fair Grounds, Trickle (drawn 7) and Alms (drawn 5 of 7) both line up in the $60,000 Shantel Lanerie Memorial Overnight Stakes, over a mile on the turf. Alms is ridden by Paco Lopez and is a 6-5 shot on the Morning Line, while Trickle will be ridden by Brian Hernandez and is a 7-2 shot.
Over at Tampa Bay tomorrow, Embossed is drawn 9 of 9 in the $150,000 Suncoast Stakes, over an extended mile. Pablo Morales takes the ride on the 10-1 shot.
Then, later on the card, Albert Park is drawn 3 of 8 in the G3 Sam F. Davis Stakes, over 1 1/16th miles. Pablo Morales once again takes the ride on the 15-1 shot outsider.
