Action galore!
There’s a ton of action to get through this weekend, but before we get stuck in, let’s have a look at a lovely winner for the stable today at Monmouth Park!
House Arrest, owned by e Five racing Thoroughbreds, won his second race in a row under Hector Diaz, storming away to win by over 8 lengths. This 3-year-old Hard Spun gelding was subsequently claimed out of the barn, however.
There are still some races yet to run this afternoon, and so, any other winners today will be addressed in Monday’s roundup.
Also addressed on Monday will be any winners over the weekend, which includes a handful of big race contenders!
At Laurel Park tomorrow, the stakes winning Tasting the Stars is having her first start of 2020 in the $100,000 Twixt Stakes, over 1 1/16th miles. Drawn 2 of 5, Tasting the Stars will be ridden by Jevian Toledo.
Then, at Saratoga tomorrow, too, the talented Mystic Guide is drawn 7 of 7 in the $150,000 G2 Jim Dandy Stakes, over 1 1/8th miles. Jose Ortiz takes the mount on the 4-1 shot on the Morning Line.
On Sunday at Monmouth Park, Tapwood is drawn wide of 6 in the $100,000 Sapling Stakes, over one mile. Hector Diaz takes the mount on the 7-2 shot, who finished a fine second on his lone start last month at the same track.
Over at Del Mar, Pixelate is drawn 4 of 12 in the $200,000 G2 Del Mar Derby, over 1 1/8th miles on the turf. Umberto Rispoli rides the ultra-consistent 3-1 shot, who is seeking his first graded stakes victory.
