Still leading the pack…
The Stidham stable is still leading the trainers at Fair Grounds this winter by numerical wins after a weekend to remember thanks to Pixelate’s latest big victory and a lovely maiden winner.
Let’s start with Godolphin’s Pixelate, who was given an impeccably-timed ride by Angel Suarez to get up close home in the $75,000 Woodchopper Stakes.
This 3-year-old son of City Zip is the winner already this season of the G2 Del Mar Derby and his career earnings are now fast approaching the $400,000 mark. What a fine servant he’s been to connections.
Yesterday at Fair Grounds, Timothy Stupka’s Ultimate Irony broke his maiden in admirably grizzled fashion under Colby Hernandez, holding sway near the wire to claim victory by less than a length. This 2-year-old son of Ironicus is learning all the time.
