Mouthwatering action ahead!
After a relatively quiet period of action for the stable, the adrenalin is once again pumped up to the max this weekend, with a host of big-race runners spearheaded by a couple of potential Derby contenders at Fair Ground tomorrow!
But first, let’s take a look at a a lovely winner today at Tampa Bay Downs.
The Alifyfe Racing-owned Dreaming of Paris broke her maiden in good fashion under Manny Jimenez, kicking clear in the home stretch to win by a length. In the process, this English Channel filly enhanced her paddock value very nicely indeed.
As for tomorrow’s fireworks, let’s start with the talented Vettori Kin having his first start for the stable in the $125,000 Colonel E. R. Bradley Stakes, a turf race over 1 1/16th miles. Drawn 6 of 11, Vettori Kin is expected to acquit himself well under Brian Hernandez.
And now onto a couple Derby pretenders, with Manor House (Adam Beschizza) drawn 9 and Proxy (Mitchell Murrill) drawn 4 in the 11-runner $200,000 Lecomte Stakes, over 1 1/16th miles. With a tad more experience, Proxy is the slightly more fancied runner of the stable’s two contenders, but both are in great form, and big runs are expected from both.
On Monday at Aqueduct, Saguaro Row is looking for a repeat win in the $100,000 Interborough Stakes, over 7 furlongs. Trevor McCarthy takes the mount on the wonderfully consistent mare, who faces a maximum 5 other rivals.
