Weekend update

Sam Houston is the place to be this weekend if you’re a fan of the stable!

That’s because the Stidham barn is firing two flaming arrows at a couple big races there this Sunday. And so, without any further ado, let’s take a look at what’s happening!

First up is the quality 4-year-old, Kingpin, who is drawn 12 of 12 in the $100,000 Pulse Power Turf Sprint Stakes, a 5 furlong sprint on the turf. Third in the My Frenchman Stakes at Monmouth Park last year,  Kingpin has Declan Carroll on his back, and is a 12-1 shot on the Morning Line.

Four races later, the grizzled old warrior, Vettori Kin, is drawn 9 of 12 in the G3 $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes, a turf race over 1 1/2 miles. Highly tried over the years, Vettori Kin is a 20-1 shot with Miguel Mena booked to ride.
