Farewell to Fair Grounds!

While all eyes were understandably trained on Dubai over the weekend, where stable superstar Mystic Guide produced a top-class performance to win the $12 million G1 Dubai World Cup, back here on domestic soils, Fair Grounds wrapped its latest winter meet.

As usual, the Stidham stable made hay in Louisiana this winter, winning 17 races and accruing $760,440 in prize money to finish among the upper echelons of the training ranks on one of the toughest circuits in the U.S.

We also signed off with a nice winner in Pie Killer, owned by A La Mode Racing, who won convincingly last Friday under Mitchell Murrill to break her maiden, leading all the way before passing the wire more than four lengths clear of the pack. It’ll be interesting to see where she runs next.

And now for the week’s entries:

Wednesday

Tampa Bay
Hey Hottie – Race 2, Maiden Special Weight

Friday

Sam Houston
Moon of Love (IRE) – Race 6, Allowance
