Maestro Gershwin!

Another weekend, another fantastic big race winner for the the all-conquering Godolphin-Stidham duo when Gerswin (a half brother to their Dubai World Cup winning Mystic Guide) produced a career-best performance to claim the $300,000 G3 Penn-Mile Stakes at Penn National Friday evening.

Perfectly positioned by Joe Bravo on the heels of the leaders, Gershwin was sent to the lead on the final turn, pulling away from the small but talented field down the stretch to pass the post by two lengths too good.

This lightly raced 3-year-old son of Distorted Humor made his racecourse debut on only the second day of this year, but has seen his star rapidly rise. This resounding victory in his first graded state assignment certainly bodes well for the future, and he adds yet another top-class string to the Stidham stable’s bow for the season!

Watch a replay of the race here at the TDN.
