Mighty Micheline!
Mighty Micheline, the multiple-stakes winning victor of the G2 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs earlier this year, is given her next big race assignment in the G3 Eatontown Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
Drawn 5 of 12 in the $150,000 turf race, over 1 1/16th miles, Micheline enjoys the services of Mychel Sanchez in the saddle. Together, they’re a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line – if she does prevail, she’ll be adding to her five-win career tally, with earnings of over $670,000 already.
And if she wins, it’ll be the second big-race weekend win for the unbeatable Godolphin-Stidham combo in a row.
That’s because last weekend, Godolphin’s Pixelate was given a peach of a ride by Joe Bravo to eek out a cozy win in the $100,000 Prince George’s County Stakes at Pimlico. What an admirable servant Pixelate has been to connections over the years, annexing nearly half a million dollars in prize money, including a win in the G2 Del Mar Derby last year. And he looks far from done yet!
