Follow the Guide!

Buckle up, cowboys, we’re in for a bumpy ride this weekend!

That’s because the racing community is offered the chance to see GI Dubai World Cup winning Mystic Guide on his first start back since his famous win overseas.

The race in question is the $400,000 GII Suburban Stakes, a 1 and 1/4 mile race at Belmont Park. Drawn four in a six-horse field, Mystic Guide will once again be ridden by Luis Saez, and they’re an evens shot on the Morning Line.

All week, Mike has been singing Mystic Guide’s praises, telling TVG that the team are struggling to keep the exuberant colt grounded:

“He’s back to where you look at him, he shines like a brand-new copper penny,” Mike told TVG. “He’s doing that again. He’s kind of touting us in the mornings around the barn. We have a sand pit that he rolls in every morning after he gallops and some of the mornings when he comes out of there, he’s so strong that honestly, he’s hard to hold down on the ground.”

Also at Belmont Park Saturday, Princess Grace is drawn 3 of 9 in the $100,000 Perfect Sting Stakes, a mile turf race. Once again Luis Saez is the man in the hot-seat, and they’re a 3-1 shot on the Morning Line.

Over at Delaware Park the same afternoon, the talented Gershwin is drawn one of nine in the $150,000 GIII Kent Stakes, a 1 and 1/8th turf race. Winner of the GIII Penn Mile Stakes last time out, Gershwin will be ridden tomorrow by Joe Bravo, and together, they’re an 8-1 shot on the Morning Line.
