Weekly double!
Two wins from less than a handful of runners this week means the Stidham stable is headed into the weekend on a bit of a high!
On Tuesday, Palio, owned by DARRS Inc. nailed his second career victory with an authoritative victory under Mychel Sanchez at Colonial Downs. This 3-year-old son of Twirling Candy is still lightly raced with room for more improvement.
One day later at Colonial Downs, Diane Manning’s Uncle Ken, a 3-year-old son of Uncle Mo, made a racecourse debut a winning one under Paco Lopez. As usual, for a Stidham runner, Uncle Ken was ready for his first day at school, and positively ran away with the contest having led all the way.
Keep an eye out for Uncle Ken next time he runs!
Tomorrow at Pimlico, the wonderful Pixelate is aiming for more big race glory in the $200,000 G3 Baltimore/Washington International Turf Cup Stakes, a turf race over a mile. Drawn 4 of 6, Pixelate is a 2-1 shot on the Morning Line under anticipated rider Joe Bravo. Last time out, Pixelate won the Prince George’s County Stakes at Pimlico.
