Farewell to Arlington?

On a weekend that could well prove a final hurrah to Arlington Park, the Stidham stable said its own quiet farewell today with a timely winner.

Rob Auerbach and Marc Winston’s Quiet Prayer broke his maiden in gritty fashion, coming with a rattling run to win by a head under Declan Carroll. This 3-year-old son of Temple City is a young man headed in the right direction.

And now for the weekend.

The tremendously exciting Advocating is looking to extend her winning run to four when lining up in the $75,000 George Rosenberger Memorial Stakes, a turf race over 1 1/16th miles run at Delaware Park. Drawn 9 of 14, Mychel Sanchez takes the mount on the 6-1 shot who’s gunning for her first slice of black type.

And now for the rest of the weekend entries:

Saturday

Master of the Ring – Race 2, Maiden Special Weight

Sunday

Made My Day (IRE) – Race 7, Claiming
