Unusually for the Stidham stable, this weekend is going to be a relatively quiet one, with just a handful of starters Sunday and Monday.
That’s not to say there aren’t any big race runners to look forward to, courtesy of Advocating, who lines up in the $75,000 H.B.P.A. Stakes at Presque Isle.
Drawn 5 of 12 in this race over an extended mile, Advocating has jockey Mychel J. Sanchez doing the steering. Together, they’re a 9-2 shot on the Morning Line.
This well-bred 4-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo, out of Stidham’s multiple graded-stake winning Leigh Court, was third last time out in the George Rosenberger Memorial Stakes. Before that, Advocating had won three on the trot. And this race looks another golden opportunity for some more valuable black type.
