Busy, Busy, Busy!

With horses entered here, there and everywhere, the Stidham stable will be a busy one indeed the next few days.

But before we take a look at the weekend runners, let’s cast our minds back to last Saturday, and a lovely win for Mt. Brilliant Farm’s War Machine at Keeneland.

Having led the whole way, War Machine knuckled down well under Tyler Gaffalione to repel his challengers by a head. This 3-year-old son of War Front has won two of his four starts, and further improvement is well in order.

On Wednesday at Delaware Park, Dare to Dream’s Starburst got back into the winning groove under Charlie Marquez, again, leading for most of the way before drawing clear near the line to win by more than a length. This three-year-old Upstart colt has a similar profile to War Machine in that it looks as though his best form is still ahead of him.

And now to Sunday at Woodbine, where Master of the Ring is drawn 6 of 8 in the Gr. 3 $150,000 Ontario Derby, over 1 and 1/8th miles on the all weather track. Justin Stein takes the mount on the 20-1 shot, who broke his maiden last time out and is taking a massive leap up in class.
