Stable Star Update!

We promised last week a round-up of the Stidham stable stalwarts, and we’re not one to break our promise!

But before we take a dive into the current status of our glittering array of stars, let’s take a look at a potential future headline maker – Uphold the Law, who maintained his perfect record when making it 2-from-2 at Gulfstream Park Sunday for owners Niall Brennan and Susan Moulton.

Given a confident ride near the pace under jockey Samy Camacho, Uphold the Law was sent to the lead at the top of the stretch, drawing clear to win by four lengths.

This 3-year-old son of Upstart is fast on the improve, rewarding his connections’ patience admirably.

And now for the stable stars:

Mystic Guide: The Dubai World Cup winner returned to the barn this week from minor injury and for a freshening up, and looks an absolute picture. Roll on the next global headlines!

Alms: This multiple graded-stakes winner is pencilled in to return to action opening day at Fair Grounds in the $75,000 Joseph R. Peluso Stakes, over 1 1/16th miles on the turf.

Pixelate: Our wonderful millionaire is set to run next in the $75,000 Bob F. Wright Memorial Stakes, over 1 1/16th miles on the turf, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Princess Grace: One of the most exciting fillies in the country, Princess Grace has stayed in California after her admirable 3rd in the G3 Goldikova Stakes at Del Mar earlier this month, and is set to run next in the G1 $400,000 Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar on Nov. 28.

Word from the barn is that she has thrived in the SoCal sunshine.

As for the broader Stidham stable, this winter is a fascinating one stabled as we are at Gulfstream Park instead of Tampa Bay. The reason? The bigger purses and the newly established synthetic surface. And if early results are any guide (including Uphold the Law’s superb win Sunday), this winter should be a highly profitable one in Florida.

Our annual stable at Fair Grounds is this year full to the brim, including an array of talented young horses, many of which haven’t yet seen the racetrack. And so, all being told, we’re itching to light the touch paper on what promises to be hugely exciting Stidham stable fireworks in the months ahead!
