We’re obviously hoping that we see see the day out in the best way possible – a big winner on opening day of the latest Fair Grounds meet!
The big race runner in question is Alms, who is drawn 6 of 11 in the $75,000 Joseph R. Peluso Memorial Stakes, a turf contest over 1 and 1/16th miles. A two-timed graded stakes winner already, Alms will strip fitter for her first run (last month) in well over a year, and is a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line to prevail under jockey Mitchell Merrill.
